Taysom Hill Adds To NFL Resume With Touchdown Catch

NEW ORLEANS, La. – As he’s done all season for the New Orleans Saints, former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill continued to show off his versatility.
Midway through the third quarter in the Saints’ NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams, Hill hauled in a 2-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Drew Brees to put New Orleans up 19-10.

The play before, Hill had his first pass attempt of the game, an incompletion to running back Alvin Kamara.
The touchdown reception was just the latest in a growing list of highlights for Hill, who has become a cult figure of sorts in his first season with the Saints.

The former BYU star has lined up at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, kick returner and as a special teams member this season. He ended the regular season with 64 yards on 3-of-7 passing, 196 rushing yards with two TDs, four receiving yards on three catches, a punt return, six tackles, 348 yards on 14 kickoff returns and one blocked punt.
Following his game-changing punt block against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 9, Hill was honored as the NFL’s special teams player of the week.
Unfortunately, despite the Hill’s heroics, the Rams were able to defeat the Saints on a 57-yard field goal in overtime.
