SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz picked up a 110-102 victory over the Chicago Bulls with two individuals earning milestones.

With the win, head coach Quin Snyder won his 200th game. He is third all-time in Jazz history.

Donovan Mitchell scored 34 points, scoring over 30 points in three consecutive games. Kyle Korver and Joe Ingles scored 16 points apiece and Rudy Gobert recorded 15 points, 16 rebounds, a career-high 8 assists and 5 blocks.

Zach LaVine scored 21 points to lead the Bulls, Lauri Markkanen chipped in 16 points. It was former Utah Utes head coach Jim Boylen’s first appearance in Salt Lake City as an NBA coach.

Ingles Sparks Jazz

Joe Ingles hit three triples without a miss to score 9 of the teams’ 14 points but Chicago didn’t waver with 10 points midway through the first quarter.

The Jazz inflated their lead to 29-19 at the end of the first quarter. They had six players score in the opening 12 minutes of play and already made 6 three-pointers.

Jabari Parker saw some rare minutes but he made the most of them with seven points in the second quarter and the Bulls tied the game at 33 with 8:45 left in the first half.

The Bulls had their biggest lead of the game thus far with a 42-38 advantage before Kyle Korver hit his first three-pointer of the game, Chicago was up 42-41.

Wayne Selden created a spark off the bench for the Bulls with 11 points in 13 minutes in the first half, helping Chicago take a 53-51 lead at halftime.

Ingles and Mitchell had 11 points apiece to lead the Jazz in the first half.

Korver Making History

Korver hit two 3-point shots in the third quarter to add to his four makes in the game. He has passed Jason Terry for fourth all-time in NBA history for made three-pointers. The Jazz took a 76-74 lead with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Down the stretch in the fourth quarter, Mitchell had already scored 17 points in the second half to go with his 28 points, Jazz held a 95-89 lead with 6 minutes left.

Royce O’Neale and Joe Ingles hit back-to-back three-pointers to put Utah’s lead to 13, 105-92 with 2 minutes left in the game.

That stretch put the game away with the Jazz winning their third straight game and five of their last six.


Next Up

Utah is now 23-21 on the season and will be back at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Monday when they face the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet.

The Jazz won the previous meeting against the Pistons this season with a 110-105 victory in Detroit on January 5. The Pistons are 18-23 this season, snapping a four game losing streak with a win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
