SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz are bringing Kyle Korver back to the Jazz for the second time in his 15-year career. Jazz fans expressed their excitement about the return of Korver to Salt Lake City on social media.

Utah acquired Korver when they traded Alec Burks and two future second round picks.

When the trade became official, Korver sent a message to Cavaliers fans to thank them for their support.

“I’m thankful that Koby (Altman) and management were upfront and mindful of my family through this process and are sending us to a great city and organization,” Korver told The Athletic on Wednesday.

“We have lots of friendships there, which will soften the landing,” Korver added.

“I think just overall I’m really grateful for my time in Cleveland,” Korver said. “So many amazing opportunities. Incredible teammates. Relationships that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life. The fans have really embraced me and my family. I’ve never heard ‘thank you’ so many times from fans, even after harder moments.

“Cleveland fans are who you want to play for.”

The Jazz announced on Instagram that they have acquired Korver and it looks like he will be wearing No. 26 again.

They also tweeted out the most memorable moments from Korver’s first time in Utah from 2007-10.

Korver was on his way to the airport to join the Jazz when Cavaliers fan Krista Reed ran into the NBA veteran.

Jazz fan Ali Rose posted on Twitter a photo that was taken with Kyle from his first stint with Utah.

The Jazz were in desperate need of a three-point shooter and with Korver hitting 46 percent of his triples this season, it looks like a good fit.

Fans like the combination of Joe Ingles with Korver as they are the two of the top three-point shooters in the NBA. Jeff Heaton created a photo shopped image of Ingles and Korver replacing Will Ferrell and John Reilly in “Step Brothers.”

Former BYU player and current Jazz TV analyst Michael Smith was pleased to see the trade come through with Korver.
