Utes, Aggies Move Up In CFP Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – In the fourth release of the College Football Playoff rankings, both Utah and Utah State have moved up the ladder.
Following a convincing 30-7 win over Colorado, Utah came in at No. 17 in the latest rankings, a boost from No. 19 last week.
The Utes will take on unranked BYU Saturday at 8 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will be broadcast on FS1. Following the rivalry game against the Cougars, Utah will play for a chance to go to the Rose Bowl in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Utes will play the winner of the Washington-Washington State game this week.

Utah State benefitted from a miraculous win at Colorado State on Saturday. The Aggies moved up two spots as well, from No. 23 last week to No. 21 in the rankings this week.
The Aggies will face Boise State, who came in at No. 23 in this week’s rankings on the road for the right to play for the Mountain West Conference championship.

The College Football Playoffs will begin Dec. 29th with the semifinals at the Orange Bowl in Miami and the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas. The first four teams in the rankings were Alabama at No. 1, Clemson at No. 2, Notre Dame at No. 3 and Michigan at No. 4.
