Utes Lose First Road Game Of Season Against Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Utah basketball team couldn’t get past the Minnesota Golden Gophers as they fell 78-69 in their first road test of the season.
Vante Hendrix and Sedrick Barefield led the Utes with 14 points apiece while Novak Topalovic added 13 points.
All five starters for Minnesota scored in double figures led by Gabe Kalscheur with 19 points.
Utah stayed within striking distance in the first half but couldn’t overcome the 13-3 run by the Golden Gophers as they jumped out to a 15 point lead and the Utes couldn’t make the comeback.
Minnesota shot 52 percent from the field while the Utes hit 40 percent of their shot attempts.
The Utes are now 1-1 on the season and will return home on Thursday to face Mississippi Valley State at 6 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
