SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz won their second straight game at home as they beat the Boston Celtics 123-115.

Former Jazz man Gordon Hayward made his first appearance against Utah in a Celtics uniform. He had 13 points and 7 assists on 3-of-9 shooting from the field.

Joe Ingles tied his career high with 27 points, including 10-of-14 from the field and 5-of-9 from the three-point line.

Donovan Mitchell added 21 points and Jae Crowder scored 20 points off the bench.

Jazz Hold Off Comeback

In the third quarter, Utah held a 20 point lead with 6:26 left. Boston climbed back into the game and pulled to within four points with 5:24 left in the game. The Jazz kept a distance, outscoring the Celtics 18-14 to finish the game with a win.

Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder was pleased with how his team pulled out the win.

“Proud of how our guys competed. Boston is a really good team.”

Jae Crowder Facing Old Team

Crowder had an outstanding performance off the bench for the Jazz as he scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He hit four three pointers including a critical triple to put the Jazz up by seven points as the Celtics were trimming the lead.

Snyder was asked about what Crowder means to the Jazz.

“Jae (Crowder) has a heartbeat that you can feel. His role has grown, not just on the court but his leadership.”

Next Up

The Jazz improved to 6-6 on the season. They will begin a five-game road trip on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. and can be seen on AT&T SportsNet.
