BYU Head Coach Dave Rose Inks New Deal

Provo, Utah — BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe announced today that BYU Men’s Basketball head coach Dave Rose has signed a contract extension through the 2020-2021 season.
“Dave has brought us a high level of competitive basketball for 13 years as the head coach at BYU,” Holmoe said. “His consistency and stability are two qualities that have been mainstays of the program. We look forward to continued success and we’re excited about this coming season.”
Rose is entering his 14th season as head coach for the Cougars and has a record of 329-122 for a 72.9 winning percentage – the highest in program history. His 329 wins are also the second most in school history to Stan Watts’ 371 wins.
“It’s a privilege to be the head coach at BYU,” Rose said. “I’m proud of everything we have accomplished and am excited about the future. I’m grateful to the university administration and the athletic department for providing us with the resources we need to be successful. I have the opportunity to work with great coaches who are tireless workers with exceptional expertise. The very best part of my job is that I get to work with tremendous student-athletes that are fully committed to the success of our team.”
BYU begins the 2018-19 season tonight with a road test against top-10 opponent Nevada before returning to the Marriott Center Friday for the home opener against Utah Valley University.
