SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz suffered their fourth straight loss and remained winless at home with a 124-111 loss to the Toronto Raptors Monday night.

The Jazz were doomed by poor shooting and porous defense. As a team, they shot just 44.2 percent from the field and allowed Toronto to shoot at a 57 percent clip. Utah couldn’t buy a bucket from beyond the arc either as they went 8-for-31 from 3-point land.

Raptors Dominated Without Leonard

The Jazz led 31-30 after the first quarter, but it was Toronto the rest of the way starting by outscoring Utah 35-23 in the second quarter. The Raptors again dominated the third quarter outpacing the Jazz 29-18. The Jazz managed to get some baskets in garbage time to edge the Raptors 39-30 in the fourth, but the game was already in Toronto’s pocket.

Stars for both teams were out due to injury. Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell was out with an ankle injury that he suffered in the team’s loss to Denver Saturday night. Kawhi Leonard of the Raptors also missed the game due to a foot injury that he tweaked a couple of games ago.

By The Numbers

Royce O’Neale got the start in place of Mitchell and finished with 11 points. Rudy Gobert got his eighth double-double in nine games with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jae Crowder had another nice game off the bench with 12 points.

The Raptors were led by a balanced offensive attack, led by Serge Ibaka. He finished with 17 points on a perfect 8-for-8 from the 3-point line.

More Injury Woes For Utah?

Joe Ingles left the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent hand injury. He was diagnosed with a dislocated finger and was available to return to the game, which he did not.

Next Up

As part of a three game homestand, the Jazz will next host the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Vivint SmartHome Arena. The game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
