HOUSTON, Tex. – The Utah Jazz handily defeated the Houston Rockets 100-89 Wednesday night. After the Jazz lost two games, one a heart-breaking loss in the final second to Golden State, and the other a let-down game against Memphis, it was a welcome sight for Jazz fans to see the team back in winning ways.
Jazz Not Happy With Previous Outings
Obviously, the Utah players were satisfied with how they played in their opening three games.

Mitchell Plays Best Game Of The Season
Having started the season with high expectations, Donovan Mitchell hadn’t performed to such standards in the first games, causing some fans to murmur. In the game against Houston, Mitchell showed up in a big way, scoring 38 points to lead the Jazz to victory. The fans took note.

McCluskey Honored On Mitchell’s Shoes
With the community in Utah still mourning the loss of University of Utah track star Lauren McCluskey, who was murdered Monday night on the Utah campus, Mitchell memorialized the late McCluskey by writing her name on his sneakers.

A local college girl is murdered and an entire community mourns her loss. The next day the star of the community’s pro basketball team scores 38 points in an upset road win and dedicates his performance to her honor. Sports don’t mean anything but they can also mean so much.
