Jazz Guard Collin Sexton Scores On Crafty Pass From Keyonte George

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Collin Sexton and Keyonte George shared the basketball for a crafty pass and bucket during Utah’s game against the Washington Wizards.

The Jazz hosted the Wizards at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, March 4.

With 9:15 left to play in the opening quarter, Sexton attempted an alley-oop pass to a high-flying George. After collecting the ball in the air, George was unable to find an angle for a shot and bounced the ball off of the backboard and back to a leaping Sexton. The veteran guard collected the ball and threw it through the iron for a dunk. Sexton’s jam gave Utah an 11-4 lead.

Officials ruled George’s pass off of the backboard as a missed layup attempt rather than an assist.

During his first five minutes, George recorded one rebound and an assist. Sexton posted nine points on 3-4 shooting in his first nine minutes.
This season, Sexton is averaging 17.9 points per game. George averages 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

The loss capped off a winless three-game Eastern Conference road swing after falling to the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic.
The Jazz are 1-8 in their last nine games since the NBA trade deadline.

The Wizards face the Jazz riding a season-worst 14-game losing streak.
The Jazz will be the first team with a record below .500 the Wizards have faced since late January when they beat the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs in back-to-back outings.
