BYU, Utah State Women’s Soccer To Face Off In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

PROVO, Utah – The NCAA Tournament for women’s soccer will feature an in-state matchup between BYU and Utah State.
BYU earned a No. 1 seed as an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars finished the 2023 season 16-2-3. One of those two losses was against the Utah State Aggies.
In-state rivalry in Women’s Soccer NCAA Tournament
The Aggies defeated BYU when the Cougars were the No. 1 ranked team in the nation in September. Utah State finished the year 14-7-1 and were the champions of the Mountain West Conference Tournament last week.
BYU finished as the Big 12 Tournament Runner-Up before falling to Texas.
The two programs will meet at BYU’s South Field on Friday, November 10, at 6 p.m. (MT).
Utah State upset BYU earlier this season
BYU earning a No. 1 seed sets them up to play all their matches at home as they chase their second College Cup appearance in program history. Other No. 1 seeds in the Women’s Soccer NCAA Tournament are Florida State, UCLA, and Clemson.
BYU has the nation’s top-scoring offense this season, scoring 69 goals.
The BYU/Utah State match winner will face the winner of Grand Canyon vs. 8-seed USC next week.
