Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier Finds Paydirt For First Time Since Week 1

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU Cougars running back Tyler Allgeier scored a touchdown for the first time since the opening week of the season during the Atlanta Falcons’ Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Falcons hosted the Vikings at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, November 5.

With 2:08 left in the fourth quarter, Allgeier moved his way into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown. It was his first touchdown since Week 1. Allgeier’s touchdown helped the Falcons take a 28-24 lead.

The score capped a 13-play, 79-yard drive that took 6:58.
Minnesota came back to beat Atlanta, 31-28.
Allgeier finished the game with 12 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown. He also had two receptions for a loss of nine yards.
The running back entered the game with 104 carries for 332 yards and two touchdowns this season.
With the loss, the Falcons moved to a 4-5 record.
Atlanta’s next game is on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 12 at 2:05 p.m. (MDT) on CBS.

About Tyler Allgeier
The Fontana, California native played for the Cougars from 2018-21. He played linebacker before switching to running back full-time ahead of the 2020 season.
During his time in Provo, Allgeier ran the ball 452 times for 2,899 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Allgeier set BYU’s single-season rushing record with 1,601 yards on the ground in 2021.
Following his standout career in Provo, the Falcons selected the former Cougar running back with the No. 151 overall pick during the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

During his rookie season in 2022, Allgeier carried the ball 210 times for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns. He also recorded 16 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown.
The Falcons finished last season with a 7-10 record.
