A Historic Season For The Utah Women
It’s been an incredible season so far for the Utah women as they have set new precedents and records for a program that had long been forgotten.
Utah women’s basketball has spent 12 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of the AP Top 25 Poll, achieving their highest ranking in program history of No. 3 at one point after beating Stanford in the regular season. They currently sit at No. 8 heading into March Madness.
That win over the Cardinal a few weeks back yielded Utah’s first-ever piece of the regular season Pac-12 Title and helped them sweep postseason awards.

Utah’s No. 2 seeding for the upcoming tournament is the highest in program history and it’s only the second time the Utes have made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. (The first time was in 2008 and 2009.)
“I’m pleased that we got a two-seed,” head coach Lynne Roberts said. “I think we earned that over the course of the season. I know that Gardner-Webb always has a good team. We’ve got our work cut out for us. It’s always fun to play new teams that you don’t know much about and they don’t know much about you. We’re excited we get to host that’s been one of our goals the entire season.”
