Real Salt Lake Prepares For 2023 Home Debut Against Austin FC

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake faces off against Austin FC at America First Field for the 2023 season home opener this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The game will be broadcasted on Apple TV and various KSL radio signals.

RSL will play their first home game after starting the season with 2 road matches in the Pacific Northwest. They went 1-1 in those games.
In the first game of the season, Real Salt Lake secured a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Lions went scoreless for the first 70′ before scoring twice in three minutes to take the lead.
In the second game against MLS power Seattle Sounders, RSL went down but couldn’t claw back like the game prior. The Sounders had 12 more shots, and 6 more shots on target, en route to a 2-0 win.

Real Salt Lake Ready To Meet Austin FC
Like RSL, Austin FC has played two games this season and started 1-1. However, they had the privilege of playing both games at home in Q2 Stadium.
Their first game was a 3-2 loss to St. Louis. They had a one-goal lead going into the final stretch before giving up goals in the 78th and 86th minutes. Their second game was a defense-oriented 1-0 win over Montreal FC.

The series between these two clubs last season was very close. In three games, they went 1-1-1.
Austin FC will be missing forward CJ Fodrey and defender Julio Cascante. Real Salt Lake will be without defender Zack Farnsworth and forward Axel Kei.
Real Salt Lake should be preparing for a well-conditioned ball club. Austin FC competed in the CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.

Following the game against Austin FC, RSL will play its second home game against St. Louis on Saturday, March 25.
