The Jazz have open rosters that needed to be filled after completing buyouts with guards Leandro Bolmaro and Russell Westbrook in recent days.
The team will retake the floor on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder after hosting All-Star weekend in Utah.
Frank Jackson Before Joining Jazz
Once a Utah 5A state champion with Lone Peak high school, Jackson is in the midst of his fifth NBA season.
The native of Alpine, Utah, Jackson was originally selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 31st pick in the 2017 NBA draft before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans on draft night.
After starring at Lone Peak, Jackson played one season at Duke (2016-17) where he averaged 10.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, helping the Blue Devils to an ACC tournament title.
Jazz Also Sign Kris Dunn
In addition to Jackson, Charania reported that the Jazz are also signing veteran guard Kris Dunn to a 10-day contract.
A former lottery pick, Dunn hasn’t taken the floor in an NBA game since April of 2022 after a brief stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.
