Rams LB Bobby Wagner Snags Interception Against Former Team

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah State and current Los Angeles Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner hauled in his first interception of the season against his old NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams hosted the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, December 4.
With 1:53 to go in the third quarter, Wagner picked off Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith and returned the ball two yards to the Los Angeles 45-yard line.

Seattle owned a 17-13 lead at the time of Wagner’s interception.
After the pick, Wagner had five total tackles, four solo tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, a pass breakup, two quarterback hits, and an interception.

Prior to Week 13, the former Aggie had 90 total tackles, 49 solo tackles, three sacks, one fumble recovery, and three pass breakups this season.

The Rams entered the game with a 3-8 record this season, including 2-4 at home.

About Bobby Wagner
After a college career at Utah State, the Southern California native was selected by the Seahawks during the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Wagner helped Seattle win Super Bowl XLVIII in 2013.
Last season, Wagner recorded 170 total tackles, 93 solo tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one interception, and five pass breakups. The former USU standout was selected to his eighth consecutive Pro Bowl in 2021.

After spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks, Wagner joined Seattle’s NFC West rival on March 31. The six-time All-Pro player was released by the Seahawks on March 8.
Enter Week 13, the former USU standout had recorded 1,473 total tackles, 868 solo tackles, 26.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, 11 interceptions, 63 pass breakups, and a touchdown in 162 career games.
