SALT LAKE CITY- After some upsets last weekend, the Utes made a jump in the latest edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings to No. 10. Despite injuries and players being limited, Utah continues to find creative ways to win convincingly, and the committee rewarded them for that effort.

The Pac-12 In The CFP

The Utes are now the second highest-ranked team in the Pac-12 behind USC in both the AP Top 25 and the CFP. USC moved up to No. 7 after handling business against a hapless Colorado team last Friday.

Others in the Pac-12 were not so lucky. Oregon and UCLA dropped in the AP Top 25 significantly after stumbling against Washington and Arizona last weekend. The College Football Playoff committee seemed to agree with the assessment and placed Oregon at No. 12 and UCLA at No. 16.

Washington however was rewarded for their masterful takedown of the ducks and moved up to No. 17 in the latest CFP rankings.

Like the AP Top 25 Poll, Oregon State also slide into the College Football Playoff rankings at No. 23, giving the Pac-12 six ranked teams and seven total teams qualifying for a bowl game (Washington State).

This week is a big game weekend for the Pac-12 with No. 12 Oregon hosting No. 10 Utah in Eugene and N0.  7 USC traveling up the road to No. 16 UCLA. Both games will most likely determine who is traveling to Las Vegas in December for the Pac-12 Championship. It is also possible the Pac-12 could have a Playoff berth on the line with the Trojans having a small chance to squeak in if they win.
