Utah RB Charlie Vincent Named Hometown Hero Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Utes running back Charlie Vincent was named the Hometown Hero of the Week by KSL Sports Live after his performance against Arizona.
Each week, KSL Sports Live highlights a former Utah high school athlete that is excelling at the college level and Utes RB Charlie Vincent was selected this week.
The sophomore from East High School scored his first career touchdown with the Utes in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run to give Utah a 45-10 lead over Arizona with 4:10 remaining in the game.
Vincent finished with seven carries for 23 yards and one touchdown, with his longest run going for six yards, and averaged 3.3 yards per carry.

The Salt Lake City native joined the Utes in 2019 as a walk-on, while using his redshirt. In 2020, Vincent appeared in four games on special teams and was awarded a scholarship, and was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. During the 2021 season, Vincent played in nine games on special teams and was on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll once again.
This season, Vincent has played in seven games at running back and on special teams. He started at running back against Washington State and has 11 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown this season.
Vincent was a standout running back at East High School where he ran the ball 240 times for 2,478 yards and 29 touchdowns, with 35 total TD’s, while averaging 10.3 yards per carry in his career with the Leopards.
During his junior season in 2017, Vincent recorded 110 carries for 1,215 yards and 14 touchdowns. While at East, Vincent was named all-state twice, along with two first-team all-region honors, and the Region 3 MVP in 2017. He had 10 games in his high school career where he rushed for over 100 yards. Vincent helped the Leopards win the 4A title in 2015 and 2016.
The Utes will play their final home game of the 2022 season when they host Stanford on Saturday, November 12 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. MT on ESPN.
