SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will host a shorthanded Los Angels Lakers team who will be without LeBron James and two other starters on Monday night.
The Jazz are riding back-to-back wins in Los Angeles over the weekend, beating the Lakers 130-116 on Friday before downing the Clippers 110-102 on Sunday night.
The Lakers followed Friday’s loss with a 114-100 defeat at the hands of Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday afternoon.
Jazz Look To Stay Undefeated At Home
The Jazz 8-3 record might be the most surprising story league-wide to open the season. That start includes a perfect 4-0 record at home.
Vivint Arena is traditionally one of the most difficult venues to play in in the NBA, and the Jazz have maintained that dominance despite an offseason roster overhaul.

QUESTIONABLE – Jarred Vanderbilt (right adductor soreness)
— KSL Sports (@kslsports) November 7, 2022
The Jazz have the league’s second-best defensive rating at home, allowing just 102.9 points per 100 possessions in Salt Lake City.
Their 11.5 Net Rating is fifth among all teams at home this year.
Offensively, the Jazz have balanced their strong defensive attack at home by knocking down an average of 16.8 threes per game, tops in the league.
LeBron Out, Two More Starters Gone For Lakers
The Lakers will be extremely shorthanded when they travel to Utah to face the Jazz.
Superstar LeBron James will miss Monday’s game due to left foot soreness.

The Lakers starting backcourt will also miss the game in Utah as Lonnie Walker IV and Patrick Beverley are out with non-covid illnesses.
James had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in the Lakers loss to the Jazz on Friday, but the star’s impact on the game was hardly felt.
Beverley and Walker IV combined for 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
