Jazz Snap Road Losing Streak, Beat Westbrook, Lakers

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz put on an offensive clinic in the first half and held on to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 130-116.
Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 27 points while Russell Westbrook scored 26 to lead the Lakers.
With the win, the Jazz snapped their three-game road losing streak and moved to 7-3 on the season.
First Quarter
The Lakers jumped out to a quick 5-0 start, but the Jazz answered beyond the continued strong play of Lauri Markkanen who scored 12 points in the opening quarter.
Walker Kessler also returned to the rotation after playing just four minutes in the last four games and scored six points off the bench.

Anthony Davis had 14 points to lead the Lakers on 6-10 shooting.
After one, the Jazz led the Lakers 40-34.
Second Quarter
The Lakers trimmed their deficit to just one early in the second quarter but the Jazz answered with a 24-13 run to build their lead to 12 behind efficient play from Collin Sexton.
The reserve guard had 15 points on 6-7 shooting to lead the Jazz in scoring in the first half.

Four Jazz players scored in double figures while Davis and Russell Westbrook combined for 44 points for the Lakers.
At the half, the Jazz led the Lakers 75-62.
Third Quarter
The Jazz strong offense returned early in the third quarter as they built their lead to 16 at the eight minute mark.
However, the Lakers closed the quarter on a 26-15 run behind the energy of Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook had 23 points through three quarters to lead the Lakers while Markkanen had 22 to lead the Jazz.
After three, the Jazz led Los Angeles 100-95.
Fourth Quarter
Talen Horton-Tucker and Nickeil Alexander-Walker hit big shots early in the fourth quarter as the Lakers were threatening to retake the lead.
The pair scored a quick eight points to give the Jazz breathing room until the starters could get back into the game.

The Jazz rebuilt their lead to 12 midway through the quarter and coasted to the victory.
Westbrook had his best game of the season scoring 28 points on an efficient 9-14 from the floor while Markkanen had 27 to lead the Jazz.
The Jazz beat the Lakers 130-116.
