SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz put on an offensive clinic in the first half and held on to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 130-116.

Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 27 points while Russell Westbrook scored 26 to lead the Lakers.

With the win, the Jazz snapped their three-game road losing streak and moved to 7-3 on the season.

First Quarter

The Lakers jumped out to a quick 5-0 start, but the Jazz answered beyond the continued strong play of Lauri Markkanen who scored 12 points in the opening quarter.

Walker Kessler also returned to the rotation after playing just four minutes in the last four games and scored six points off the bench.

Anthony Davis had 14 points to lead the Lakers on 6-10 shooting.

After one, the Jazz led the Lakers 40-34.

Second Quarter

The Lakers trimmed their deficit to just one early in the second quarter but the Jazz answered with a 24-13 run to build their lead to 12 behind efficient play from Collin Sexton.

The Jazz rebuilt their lead to 12 midway through the quarter and coasted to the victory.

Westbrook had his best game of the season scoring 28 points on an efficient 9-14 from the floor while Markkanen had 27 to lead the Jazz.
