No. 4 Ridgeline Shuts Out No. 13 Pine View In First Round

SALT LAKE CITY – The Ridgeline RiverHawks blanked the Pine View Panthers on Friday night, 24-0.

No. 13 Pine View 0 @ No. 4 Ridgeline 24

Ashton Macfarlane, Jackson Olden, Nate Dahle, and JT White were responsible for Ridgeline’s 24 points.

Ridgeline will face No. 5 Snow Canyon on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

Here are all of the results in the 4A classification from the first round of the 2022 high school football state tournament.

4A First Round Matchups

No. 9 Logan 0 @ No. 8 Cedar City 7

In a defensive battle, Cedar City was able to get one touchdown run by Koden Lunt late in the first quarter to lift the Reds to the second round with a win at home against the Logan Grizzlies.

Cedar City will face No. 1 Crimson Cliffs on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 12 Green Canyon 21 @ No. 5 Snow Canyon 26

The Snow Canyon Warriors held on for a five-point victory on over the Green Canyon Wolves on Friday. After taking a 20-0 lead into halftime, the Warriors were outscored 21-6 over the final 24 minutes before holding on for a win. Hunter Johnson accounted for four touchdowns for the Warriors.

Snow Canyon will face No. 4 Ridgeline on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 10 Hurricane 6 @ No. 7 Sky View 41

Jace Favero passed for two touchdowns, one each to Bryton Williams and Brooks Rigby. Michael Furgeson ran in two touchdowns, while Brevin Egbert added one rushing TD. Gerritt Grondel ran in Hurricane’s lone touchdown.

Sky View will battle No. 2 Desert Hills on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.

No. 11 Bear River 15 @ No. 6 Mountain Crest 35

The Mountain Crest Mustangs ran away from the Bear River Bears on Friday, 35-15. The Mustangs trailed 9-7 at the end of the first quarter. Mountain Crest got things rolling in the second quarter and outscored Bear River, 28-6 over the final 36 minutes of game time. Dontay McMurtrey led the Mustangs with two rushing touchdowns.

Mountain Crest will square off with No. 3 Dixie on Friday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. MT.
