Utah Jazz Announce Extension For Justin Zanik

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz announced they are extending the contract of general manager, Justin Zanik.
The announcement came Tuesday morning from the team. According to the team, it is a “multi-year” extension, but specific details were not provided.
Zanik is heading into his fourth season as GM of the Utah Jazz. He originally joined the team as assistant general manager in September 2013 before taking the same job with the Bucks and returning to Utah in 2017.
“Justin’s basketball acumen, ability to create meaningful relationships throughout the league, and management of our front office are invaluable assets,” said Jazz CEO of Basketball Danny Ainge. “We’re thrilled that he’ll continue to lead the team.”

Justin Zanik’s Reaction To Extension With The Jazz
“My family and I have fallen in love with this great city and the state of Utah, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue this journey with the Utah Jazz,” said Zanik. “I have a deep appreciation for my partnership with Ryan and Danny and am excited about our path forward with Coach Hardy. We look forward to building towards winning the championship our fans deserve.”
Zanik has had a busy offseason. The team traded away two superstars and is officially in rebuild mode with a roster full of young players.
“Ochai, Lauri and Collin are exciting young players, and we’re thrilled to add them to our roster,” Zanik said of the rebuild. “We believe that they fit the Jazz culture and hard-nosed, competitive brand of basketball we’ve built here in Utah. They give us versatility and athleticism on both ends of the floor as we grow toward the future. We look forward to our fans getting to know them.”

An alumni of Northwestern University, Zanik is a certified NBA agent and spent time as Vice President of ASM Sports.
He and his wife, Gina Zanik, have three kids. Gina Zanik is co-founder and executive director of Rare and Undiagnosed Network (RUN), which raises awareness and funding for rare and undiagnosed diseases.
The Utah Jazz open the season Wednesday, October 19 against the Denver Nuggets.
