SALT LAKE CITY- While the primary focus for the Utes is their upcoming Top 25 matchup with UCLA this weekend, there is another game looming large on the horizon. Many have had #6 USC’s visit to Rice-Eccles Stadium on October 15th circled since the schedule was released, and now we finally have a time and channel.

The Utes and Trojans will kick-off at 6 p.m. MT on FOX for what many believe will be a preview of the Pac-12 Championship game later in December.
Utes Tribute Game For Teammates
Utah will be wearing their special hand-painted helmets when they host USC- an announcement that came earlier in the year. The 2022 edition of the helmets will feature fallen teammates Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe with the “22 Forever” logo on the back. Both Jordan and Lowe’s families will be in attendance for the game.
While it is still not known for, sure and won’t be announced until game week, many have speculated that the USC game will also double as Utah’s annual “Dark Mode” game provided it had a later slot.
The Utes got the better of the Trojans at the Coliseum last year despite coming off of a BYE week where they had to come to grips with Lowe’s tragic death. No one knew what to expect from Utah heading into that game, but they put on a performance for the ages in honor of their teammate and secured their first win in Los Angeles in 106 years.
Aside from the personal meaning of the game for Utah with Jordan and Lowe, it could also mark the end of an era. USC, along with UCLA announced this past summer they were leaving the Pac-12 Conference for the Big Ten in 2024 making it likely this will be the last time USC comes to Salt Lake City for a while.
