Big Sky Honors Weber State QB Bronson Barron Following Week 3

SALT LAKE CITY – The Big Sky Conference announced that Weber State quarterback Bronson Barron earned the league’s Player of the Week honor following his performance against the Utah Tech Trailblazers.
The Wildcats hosted the Blazers at Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah on Saturday, September 17.
Barron and the Wildcats blasted the Trailblazers, 44-14.
On Monday, September 19, the conference honored Barron as the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week.
In Weber State’s victory over Utah Tech, Barron was 25/33 passing for a career-high 368 yards and four touchdowns. He added three carries for seven yards with his legs.

The American Fork, Utah native helped the Wildcats produce 623 yards of total offense and had his second career game with four touchdown passes. In the win, Barron became the 17th player in Weber State history to throw for 3,000 yards in their career.
Through three games this season, Barron has thrown for 722 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. In his career, the sophomore quarterback had recorded 3,322 passing yards and 22 total touchdowns.

With the win over Utah Tech, Weber State improved its record to 3-0 this season. It’s the program’s first 3-0 start in a full season since 1998.
The contes was Weber State’s final non-conference game of the year. The No. 12 ranked Wildcats open Big Sky action on the road against the UC Davis Aggies.
Weber State remains 12th in the nation in the latest FCS polls.

Last season, the Aggies traveled to Ogden and left with a 17-14 victory over the Wildcats. Barron did not play in the game due to injury.
The 2022 game at UC Davis will be the program’s second road trip of the season and first outside the state of Utah. In Week 2, the Wildcats went to Logan, Utah and came away with an upset win over Utah State.
Weber State’s game against UC Davis is slated to start on Saturday, September 24 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
