Lions RB Jamaal Williams Opens 2022 Season With Early Touchdown Run

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams broke into the end zone for an early touchdown in Week 1.
The Lions hosted the Eagles at Ford Field on Sunday, September 11.
With 10:18 left in the opening quarter and the Lions facing a 2nd & Goal, Williams burst across the goal line for Detroit’s first score of the season.
Williams’ run gave the Lions a 7-0 lead.

The play capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 4:42.
After the score, Williams had four carries for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Williams is in his sixth NFL season and second with the Lions. Last season, he ran the ball 153 times for 601 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 26 catches for 157 yards. During his NFL career, the former BYU star has run for 2,586 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s scored a total of 21 touchdowns.
Detroit’s game against Philadelphia is televised on FOX.
