Ochoa, United Visit Rio Tinto Stadium
Real Salt Lake is slated to host Eastern Conference foe D.C. United to Rio Tinto Stadium for the first time since 2018 when RSL prevailed 3-2 on May 12th.
The last meeting between the two clubs occurred in 2019 when RSL traveled East and lost 5-0.
A lot has changed between now and 2019, RSL is managed by Pablo Mastroeni while United is led by English legend and former United player Wayne Rooney.
Furthermore, at the end of July David Ochoa was acquired by United and has started the previous three games following the 6-0 drumming United suffered on August 20 at the hands of the Philadelphia Union.
In the three-game stretch that Ochoa has started for United, he has conceded three goals, an average of one goal a game.
It will be fascinating to see how Ochoa is greeted by not only the home supporters but also his former teammates. It has been publicized that Ochoa segregated himself from the rest of the team towards the end of his tenure in Utah and a handful of the leadership requested that Ochoa is not allowed to train with the main group.
