SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake forward Anderson Julio leveled the match in the second half for RSL on the road against FC Dallas on Saturday night.
In the 70th minute and trailing 1-0 to FC Dallas, Anderson Julio received the ball from Aaron Herrera and put his head on it, landing in the back of the net for RSL.
That tied the match at one goal apiece. It’s the second goal of the season for Julio. He entered the game as a substitute in the 62nd minute for Sergio Cordova.

Real Salt Lake entered the fixture having let points slip last weekend against Vancouver when the visitors clinched an equalizer in the 87th minute to conclude proceedings at 1-1.
FC Dallas, on the other hand, is looking to redeem themselves following a 4-0 loss on the road against Nashville SC. However, prior to the loss against Nashville, Dallas went three games undefeated and was climbing the western conference rapidly.
Real Salt Lake Out For Revenge
Also recently, FC Dallas visited Rio Tinto Stadium on July 23rd and handed Real Salt Lake its first loss at home following a stretch of 10 games unbeaten at home to start the 2022 season.
The 1-0 loss came following an early Jesus Ferreira goal in the 14th minute. Dallas then proceeded to drop numbers behind the ball and make life incredibly frustrating for Real Salt Lake and its home crowd. RSL failed to convert on any opportunity given and the game concluded with a 1-0 scoreline.
However, since the disappointing home loss against FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake has made a number of additions. Danny Musovski and Bryan Oviedo will both be joining the traveling party and will be present on the bench this weekend.
Oviedo told KSL Sports on Friday, August 26, that he is excited by the opportunity to travel with the group for the first time and is optimistic that he will be able to play a role off the bench.
Regardless, the roster has improved from just a few weeks ago and is stronger now than it was.
RSL will be looking to replicate the result from the last time the club visited Toyota Stadium. Justin Meram came off the bench and contributed with 2 assists in the final 10 minutes of the game to come from behind and pinch all three points with a 2-1 victory. RSL has only won twice on the road against Dallas but is yet to lose since 2017.
