Utah Basketball Completes Non-Conference Schedule For 2022-23 Season

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men’s basketball team completed their non-conference slate for the 2022-23 season after completing a deal with UTSA.
Utah basketball announced on Thursday that they will face UTSA on Tuesday, December 13 at the Huntsman Center and have now scheduled all of their non-conference opponents.

It will be the second time that the Runnin’ Utes and Roadrunners will play each other. Utah beat UTSA on December 29, 2009 at home 69-47. The Runnin’ Utes are 28-9 all-time against teams from Conference USA.
Steve Henson is the head coach of the Roadrunners and is entering his seventh season with the program. He led UTSA to their second 20-win season and was named Conference USA Coach of the Year.
Utah’s non-conference slate features seven home games, three neutral site clashes and one true road game. They will open the 2022-23 season on November 7 against LIU. Then they will host CSU Bakersfield on Friday, November 11, Idaho State on Monday, November 14 and Sam Houston State on Thursday, November 17. The game against Sam Houston State is a part of the Ft. Meyers Tip-Off but will be played at the Huntsman Center.
After four straight home games to open the season, Utah will head to the Ft. Meyers Tip-Off and face Georgia Tech on Monday, November 21. They will end the event by playing the winner/loser of Mississippi State and Marquette.
Craig Smith’s team will go back to Salt Lake City and host St. Thomas on Saturday, November 26 before jumping into Pac-12 play. They will host Arizona on Thursday, December 1 and travel to Washington State on Sunday, December 4. After the two conference games, Utah will go back to the Huntsman Center and welcome Jacksonville State on Thursday, December 8 and UTSA on Tuesday, December 13.
Following the two games at home, Utah will head down I-15 for their only true road game of the season against rival BYU at the Marriott Center on Saturday, December 17. The Runnin’ Utes will conclude their non-conference schedule against TCU at Vivint Arena on Wednesday, December 21.
