Wuerffel Trophy recognizes community service
The Wuerffel Trophy, named after former Heisman-winning QB Danny Wuerffel from the University of Florida, was founded to honor college football players who serve others, celebrate their impact, and inspire greater community service in the world.

A starting defensive end for BYU, Batty enters his third year with the Cougars. For the past two years, he has led the team in sacks.
Off the field, Batty has been active with the school’s Built4Life program, which helps fellow student-athletes at the school. In addition, Batty created and operates Edward’s Hands, a non-profit organization that provides equine therapy for children with autism, which provides a powerful bonding experience with their parents.
Dalton Kincaid
One of the top tight ends in college football, Kincaid, has previously received the Utah Athletes in Service Award. The former University of San Diego tight end is a crucial piece to Utah’s offense that guided the program to its first Pac-12 Championship and Rose Bowl appearance last season.
Andre Grayson
Grayson graduated from Utah State in the fall of 2020 with a degree in integrated studies and is currently working on his master’s in sports management. He was a 2021 academic all-MW honoree and spends countless hours working with various groups/organizations on campus and in the community.
Semifinalists for the Wuerffel Trophy will be announced on Nov. 1, and finalists will be announced on Nov. 22. The formal announcement of the recipient is scheduled to be made on Dec. 8, and the presentation of the 2022 Wuerffel Trophy will occur on Feb. 24.
