Instant Replay: RSL Forward’s Son Steals Spotlight In Postgame Interview

SALT LAKE CITY – RSL forward Justin Meram’s son stole the show in a postgame interview, declaring RSL ‘No. 1″ after a 3-0 win over Sporting Kansas City.
Real Salt Lake hosted SKC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday, July 17.

Following a 3-0 victory in which Meram tallied two assists, he was holding his one-year old son Sebastian while doing an interview with RSL broadcasters David James and Brian Dunseth.
As the interview was wrapping up, Sebastian decided to… ummmm… share his support for daddy’s team with an extended finger that we’ll call a ‘No. 1 salute’.
Real Salt Lake picked up its first three points since June 18 with an emphatic 3-0 victory over rivals Sporting Kansas City.
Manager Pablo Mastroeni welcomed Jefferson Savarino and Justen Glad back to the starting XI while Anderson Julio returned to the bench following injury stints. Zac MacMath remained in goal, and Aaron Herrera, Marcelo Silva, Glad, and Andrew Brody started across the backline. Justin Meram, Pablo Ruiz, Jasper Löffelsend, and Maikel Chang played in the midfield behind Savarino and Sergio Córdova in a 4-4-2 formation.
With his two assists, Meram is tied with Maikel Chang for the team lead with six on the season.
