Utah Adds Seventh 2023 Commit In DB Johnathan Hall

SALT LAKE CITY- The Utes needed some good news and got it Saturday evening in Texas defensive back Johnathan Hall. Hall became Utah’s seventh pick-up for the 2023 signing class since a busy recruiting month in June.

Safety Pride
Hall hails from Katy, Texas and comes in currently as a three-star recruit. The 6’1″, 200 pound safety was between Utah, Missouri, and Texas in his final three with the Utes coming out on top. Morgan Scalley and Colton Swan were his primary recruiters through the process.
Hall brings great size to Scalley’s safety room, a nose for the football, and can be quite the punisher when needed. Having played linebacker as well, Hall brings in versatility for the Utes which they have notoriously loved in their players in the past.
Ultimately what tipped Utah in Hall’s favor was their ability to find and develop NFL talent. Utah’s strong history of sending both safeties and linebackers to the league was just the push Hall needed to make the decision.
The 2023 Class
Hall will now join fellow 2023 recruiting classmates Dijon Stanley, Caleb Bryant, Owen Chambliss, Jo’Laison Landry, CJ Blocker, Michael Mitchell, Mack Howard and Mateaki Helu in becoming Utes. Currently Utah sits at number 60 nationally for the 2023 class according to 247 Sports. With a big season ahead in 2022, it will be interesting to see where they Utes take the class next.
