SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #52 is Utah’s Tennessee Pututau (Defensive Tackle).
Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).
“A young defensive tackle that is really starting to come into his own,” Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said of his defensive tackle. “Had an outstanding spring, exceptional speed and quickness. Not the biggest player but he is lightning quick and a very good technician.”

Pututau is a sophomore from West Valley City, Utah.
He was a four-star recruit coming out of East High School before serving a two-year church mission. His first season with the Utes was in 2020, where he appeared in all five games, including two starts. Pututau finished with 10 tackles, three tackles for loss and one quarterback hurry. He had a career-high five tackles and two tackles for loss against Washington State.
This past season, he was a backup defensive tackle, playing in nine games, recording four tackles, one apiece against Weber State, BYU and Arizona State, while getting his first career sack in the Pac-12 Championship game against Oregon.
His cousin Hauati was a standout defensive tackle for Utah with his senior year in 2021. He also has cousins Fua and Taniela that are on the Utah football roster.
