Andrew Brody Signs Extension With RSL Through 2024

SALT LAKE CITY – Homegrown defender Andrew Brody has signed with RSL through 2024 after reaching an extension with the team.
Real Salt Lake announced the signing on Wednesday, May 11.
“Andrew is the epitome of what our Club’s development paradigm represents,” RSL General Manager Elliot Fall said. “From the Academy, to the USL, add in an international loan. All of these experiences prepared him for Major League Soccer. We are exceptionally proud of how he represents the badge, and his attitude, work ethic and skill reflect greatly on our community.”

Brody began is professional career in 2016 signing a contract with the Real Monarchs. He appeared in more than 100 matches in four seasons with the Monarchs. Brody was loaned to FC Pinzgau Saalfelden in Austria’s third division. He scored four goals in 16 matches for FC Pinzgau Saalfelden.
Brody made his MLS debut in RSL’s home opener in 2021. Contributing immediately, he found Damir Kreilach for his first MLS assist just minutes into that first appearance.
“I’m excited to be a part of what (Head Coach) Pablo Mastroeni, (General Manager) Elliot Fall and the new ownership is building here. I am always grateful to play in front of the most passionate fans in the League,” Brody said about the chance to re-sign with RSL. “Everyone’s goal is to reward this community – which has given us all so much – by winning trophies here in the near future.”

Brody joined the RSL Academy in Arizona at 16.

“When I joined the RSL Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona at the age of 16 years old, the dream was always to find a way to play for the first team at Rio Tinto Stadium,” Brody said. “The last two seasons have seen that dream realized, so I simply couldn’t be happier to extend my career at Real Salt Lake.”
Brody finished his rookie season with two assists in 12 starts and sixteen games played. Through 11 games and 10 starts in 2022, Brody has been a part of four clean sheets. He has rotated between working as a left back and outside wingback this season.
