Utah Warriors Drop Road Contest To New England Free Jacks

SALT LAKE CITY – After a slow start, the Utah Warriors couldn’t climb back into the game as they fell to the New England Free Jacks 33-17 on the road on Saturday.
The New England Free Jacks were the aggressors early in the game with the ball in their half. They scored their first try of the game in the third minute. After the successful conversion kick, the Free Jacks had a 7-0 lead.
In the 23rd minute, New England found the try zone and extended their lead to 12-0. They nailed their conversion kick to put their lead to 14-0. Utah countered with a penalty kick minutes later to trim the deficit to 14-3.

The momentum didn’t last long as the Free Jacks scored their third try in the 35th minute. Their lead went to 21-3 after making their conversion kick. Utah was able to find open field and put the ball in the try zone. They made their conversion kick and trailed the Free Jacks 21-10.
That was the score going into the halftime break.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half, New England scored a try but didn’t make the kick but still had a 26-10 lead. Utah started to make their run back into the game with a try and conversion kick. They trailed the Free Jacks 26-17 in the 75th minute.
New England quickly shut down the Warriors’ momentum with a try and conversion to extend their advantage to 33-17. The Free Jacks were able to hold off the Utah for the win.
The Warriors dropped their record to 2-9 on the season. They will be back home at Zions Bank Stadium to face Rugby ATL on Saturday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. MT on KSLSports.com, the KSL Sports app and the KSL TV app.
