SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Warriors came up short in the final seconds as they fell to Old Glory DC on the road 22-21 on Friday night.

Utah scored first on a penalty try which gave them seven points in the seventh minute of the game to go up 7-0. DC was able to get into the try zone but it was called back due to a penalty.
Old Glory got their first try of the game in the 23rd minute to cut the deficit to 7-5. DC missed their conversion to keep the score at 7-5. Six minutes later, Utah extended their lead with a successful kick to put them up 10-5. Old Glory got back into the try zone in the 34th minute. Once again, the home side missed the conversion kick to keep the score tied at 10. Before halftime, Utah was able to convert a kick to take a 13-10 lead at the break.

The Warriors came out of the second half and scored a try in the first three minutes. They missed the kick due to high winds but had a 18-10 lead. Utah gained more momentum with a conversion kick to put them ahead 21-10, 10 minutes into the second half.
DC countered with a try in the 59th minute. Once again, the conversion kick was no good and the Warriors had a 21-15 lead. With five minutes left in the game, Utah had a player sent off into the “sin bin” that left the Warriors down a man. Old Glory was within five meters for quite some time before they got the ball into the try zone. DC was down 21-20 with a conversion kick pending. Old Glory converted the kick and had a 22-21 lead with three minutes remaining.
In the final minute, Old Glory gave the ball back to Utah on a penalty. The Warriors went for the kick to win the game and it was no good and DC won the game.
