SALT LAKE CITY – After a historic performance in their first win of the 2022 season, the Utah Warriors are ready to carry momentum forward against LA Giltinis.

The Utah Warriors knocked off the Dallas Jackals 69-22, in what was a franchise record and Major League Rugby record for most points scored in a game.

Now, they turn their attention to the best team in MLR on Sunday, March 13 on the road against LA Giltinis.

“I think we’re definitely going to approach a match if it’s like any other as if it’s going to be another final against them,” said Utah Warriors center Tyler Fisher. “I’m not too sure in terms of what personnel they have on the team from last year whether they have the same sort of guys in it or not, but it’s definitely a rivalry game that we want to get ahead of them and get that win. We owe it to beat them as we sort of lost it in the last minute in that conference final last year.”

Utah Warriors’ Match Against LA Giltinis Provides Important Early Match

The match on Sunday between Utah and LA could prove to be an important one with both teams looking to climb the Western Conference table. Utah sits in sixth place with a 1-3-0 record, allowing 97 points and scoring 125. They have a +28 score difference with 17 tries and 14 allowed, along with eight points.

LA is one spot ahead of Utah, in fifth place in the Western Conference. They are 2-2-0 with 70 points scored and 74 allowed. The Giltinis have nine tries with eight allowed, along with nine points.

LA lost to the Houston Sabercats 21-11 in their season opener on the road. Then they beat the Toronto Arrows 31-16 on the road. Their second straight win came when they beat the New England Free Jacks 19-15 in their home opener. LA’s last match was on the road in a 22-9 loss to Austin Gilgronis.

Utah and LA will square off on Sunday, March 13 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The match will begin at 5 p.m. MT on KSLSports.com, the KSL Sports app and the KSL TV app.
