Pelicans Snap Jazz Three-Game Win Streak

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz three-game win streak was snapped by the red-hot New Orleans Pelicans 124-90.
The Pelicans handed the Jazz their worst loss of the season behind 29 points from Brandon Ingram and 24 points from CJ McCollum.
The Jazz shot just 34 percent from the floor and committed 20 turnovers in the loss.
First Quarter
The Jazz jumped out to a 5-4 lead but it was all Pelicans from thereon. New Orleans blitzed the Jazz and built a 17 point first quarter lead.
The Jazz turned the ball over six times on offense, and failed to stay in front of their man defensively, then played too far off shooters, giving up open looks to New Orleans most trips down the floor.

The Pelicans shot 67 percent from the floor in the first quarter while the Jazz shot just 39 percent.
After one, the Jazz trailed the Pelicans 35-17.
Second Quarter
New Orleans didn’t take their foot off the accelerator in the second quarter and continued to pile on the Jazz on both ends of the floor.

Jordan Clarkson repeatedly tried to force shots to jumpstart a stagnant Jazz offense which led to easy runouts for the Pelicans.
At the break the Pelicans were shooting 54 percent from the floor with while the Jazz had 14 made shots and 12 turnovers.
At halftime, the Jazz trailed 65-38.
Third Quarter
The Jazz improved slightly in the third quarter, losing the period 30-25, their smallest deficit of the game.
Donovan Mitchell, Jordan Clarkson, and Bojan Bogdanovic were ac combined 9-39 shooting three quarters for 25 points.

Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum had a combined 53 points on 21-34 shooting.
After three the Jazz trailed the Pelicans 95-63.
Fourth Quarter
Quin Snyder was able to rest his starters for most of the fourth quarter as the Jazz face an insurmountable lead.
As a result, Willie Hernanomez, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jared Butler, Eric Paschall, and Udoka Azubuike closed the game for the Jazz.
Ingram led all scorers with 29 points while the Jazz were led by Donovan Mitchell with 14.
The Jazz fell to the Pelicans 124-90.
