New York Giants Release Former Utah RB Devontae Booker

SALT LAKE CITY – The New York Giants announced the release of former Utah Utes running back and NFL veteran Devontae Booker.
The former Utah standout was released by the Giants on Wednesday, March 2.
Booker played one season for New York.

Prior to his professional career, the Sacramento, California native played at the University of Utah from 2014-15. He ran for 2,773 yards and 21 touchdowns during his time with the Utes.
Booker was originally selected by the Denver Broncos during the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Following four seasons with the Broncos, Booker signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020. He played one season with Las Vegas before joining the Giants in 2021.
During his lone season with New York, Booker ran the ball 145 times for 593 yards and two touchdowns. He added 40 catches for 45 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield.

Booker owns career statistics of 527 carries for 2,119 yards and 11 touchdowns in 93 games played. As a receiver, he has caught 162 passes for 1,224 yards and two touchdowns.
Free agency in the NFL officially begins on March 16.
