PROVO, Utah – BYU football has a familiar name back on the roster for spring practices. Former starting offensive lineman Keanu Saleapaga has returned for his final season with the Cougars.
After navigating injuries in 2020 and an undisclosed absence that kept him off the roster completely in 2021, the 6-foot-6 310-pound player is back.
Just received the #BYU football spring roster. One of the welcomed additions back for #BYU is Keanu Saleapaga. Listed at offensive line again.
Played in one game in 2020. Missed all of 2021.#BYUFootball @kslsports

Saleapaga only appeared in one game during the 2020 season. Before that, Saleapaga was emerging as one of the stars along BYU’s offensive line. Former offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes switched Saleapaga over from the defensive line to the offensive trench. Saleapaga started in 19 games and appeared in 22 total games.
Saleapaga is listed along the offensive line, once again. He joins an already deep and loaded offensive line room that added five-star Oregon transfer Kingsley Suamataia. BYU will conclude spring practices on March 31. They open the 2022 season on September 3 against South Florida.
