UHSAA Announces State Tournament Brackets For Boys And Girls Basketball

SALT LAKE CITY – The UHSAA announced the state tournament brackets for high school boys and girls basketball on Saturday morning for 5A and 6A.

With the 2A, 3A and 4A tournaments already underway, the 5A and 6A tournaments will begin next week.

The UHSAA determined the seeding based off of their RPI system.

5A Boys Basketball Tournament

*The higher seed is the home team for the first two rounds.

All first round games will be played on Wednesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. MT.

No. 4 Bonneville Lakers (17-4, 8-2) vs. No. 29 Mountain View Bruins (5-18, 2-10)

No. 13 Cottonwood Colts (15-8, 7-5) vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles (9-12, 4-5)

No. 12 Cedar Valley Aviators (12-8, 9-3) vs. No. 21 Uintah Utes (10-11, 4-8)

No. 5 Alta Hawks (17-6, 10-2) vs. No. 28 Park City Miners (4-16, 2-9)

No. 1 Olympus Titans (21-1, 12-0) vs. Winner of play-in game between No. 32 East Leopards (5-17, 2-10) vs. No. 33 Provo Bulldogs (1-20, 0-10) on Monday, February 21.

The second round will take place on Friday, February 25 at 7 p.m. MT. Quarterfinals will be on Monday, February 28 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center on the campus of the University of Utah. Game times will be at 9:30 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 12:50 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. MT.

The semifinals will also be held at the Huntsman Center on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. MT. The 5A State Championship game will be on Saturday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. MT at the Marriott Center on the campus of BYU.

5A Girls Basketball Tournament

*The higher seed is the home team for the first two rounds.

The first round will begin on Tuesday, February 22 at 7 p.m. MT. The second round will be played on Thursday, February 24 at 7 p.m. MT.
