SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz blew a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter and fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 106-101.

For their second straight trip to Los Angeles, the Jazz couldn’t solve the Lakers small-ball lineup in the fourth quarter and blew a big lead.

Donovan Mitchell had 37 points but it wasn’t enough as LeBron James 33 points sent the Jazz into the All-Star break with a tough loss.

First Quarter

A rough start to the first quarter saw the Jazz fall behind 11-0 to open the game as they had no answer for Anthony Davis.

However, Mitchell fueled a 21-7 run to erase the Lakers lead and put the Jazz ahead midway through the quarter.

The Jazz led by as much as four, but closed the quarter poorly despite Mitchell’s 15 points.

After one, the Jazz and Lakers were tied at 27.

Second Quarter

Mitchell continued his brilliant play with 26 first half points as the Jazz and Lakers traded buckets through the majority of the second quarter.

However, the Lakers suffered a major blow when Anthony Davis left the game midway through the period with what looked like a significant ankle injury.

The superstar big man had 17 points on 7-9 shooting as he left the game.

At the break, the Jazz led the Lakers 53-46.

Third Quarter

The Jazz struggled to adjust to the Lakers smaller lineup without Davis on the floor, managing just 26 points in the quarter.

Royce O’Neale scored 10 points in the quarter to lead the Jazz, while Mitchell had 33 heading into the fourth.

The Lakers scored just 25 as the Jazz built their lead slightly.

After three, the Jazz led the Lakers 79-71.

Fourth Quarter

Without Davis, the Lakers went small against the Jazz and behind LeBron James erased the Jazz double-digit lead and took control down the stretch.

James scored 15 points in the final period while the Jazz managed just 22 as a team.

The Jazz head into the All-Star break having won six of their last seven games but fell in LA despite 37 points from Mitchell.

The Jazz lost in LA 106-101.
