Keely Cashman, Isabella Wright Record Top-15 Finishes In Women’s Combined Downhill

SALT LAKE CITY – Keely Cashman and Isabella Wright each finished in the top 15 in the Women’s Downhill Combined Skiing event in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Keely Cashman finished in seventh place, while Isabella Wright ended the event in 15th place. Cashman finished +0.67 behind the leader, while Wright was +1.30 behind the leader, which was Christine Scheyer of Austria with a time of 1:32.42.
Ski star Mikaela Shiffrin finished in fifth place, +0.56 behind the leader.
Wright is from Salt Lake City, Utah. This is her first Winter Olympic Games. Cashman is from California and was with the University of Utah Ski Team until she opted out of college competition in 2021 in order to focus on training for the Olympics. Utah is hopeful that Cashman will return to the program in 2023.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Just a year after Japan’s summer Olympics, the Games are back for a winter show in Beijing, China. The unusually short gap between Games is due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Strict precautions and enforced virus prevention protocol are in place to help keep athletes, coaches and personnel safe.
Beijing is the capital of China, with a population of more than 20 million people and the first city to host both a Summer and Winter Olympic games. It is one of the largest cities in the world and 15 hours ahead of Mountain Time. There are 13 different venues in and around Beijing that will be used for the Winter Olympics.
