SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes center and current San Antonio Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl drilled a halfcourt shot at the buzzer against the Atlanta Hawks.
With less than two seconds remaining in the first half, Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl received the ball, took one dribble and threw up the shot from halfcourt and drilled it at the buzzer. San Antonio took a 73-56 lead over the Hawks at the halftime break.
Poeltl finished with 12 points and five rebounds in 27 minutes on the floor as the Spurs picked up a 136-121 road win over the Hawks.

Dejounte Murray led the way with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists. Brogdan Bogdanovic led the Hawks with 23 points off the bench. Trae Young had 18 points and 11 assists, while shooting 6-of-15 from the field.
Poeltl is having the best season of his young NBA career, averaging 13 points and nine rebounds per game. He is in his sixth NBA season, including his fourth year with the Spurs.
It’s the second three-pointer of Poeltl’s career. He went 1-of-2 from downtown during the 2017-18 season with the Toronto Raptors. Other than that, Poeltl hasn’t even attempted a three-pointer until Friday night in Atlanta.
