US Struggles As Germany Grabs Gold In Luge Team Relay

SALT LAKE CITY – Germany won gold on the final run of the day as the U.S. luge relay team finished a disappointing seventh on Thursday.
The luge team relay took place at the Yanqing Sliding Center Thursday, February 10.
The Russian Olympic Committee was sitting pretty in first place, positioned to medal with only Latvia, Austria and Germany left to race.

Unfortunately for the ROC, each of those nations put on medal-worthy performances and pushing the ROC to fourth.
An American team that includes Park City native Ashley Farquharson and Salt Lake resident Chris Mazdzer finished a disappointing seventh as they struggled to finish in the pairs portion of the relay.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics
Just a year after Japan’s summer Olympics, the Games are back for a winter show in Beijing, China. The unusually short gap between Games is due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
