Utah Alum Sean FitzSimons Qualifies For Snowboarding Slopestyle Final

SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah alum Sean FitzSimons qualified for the final round of the Men’s Snowboarding Slopestyle event at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
FitzSimons participated in the Snowboarding Slopestyle Qualifications on Saturday, February 5.
Beijing 2022 is FitzSimons’ first Olympic experience.
FitzSimons’ was the 17th snowboarder to take the slopes.
After his first run, FitzSimons owned the lead. He ended up in second place after everyone else’s first run on the course.

FitzSimons’ second run didn’t go as well as his first go.
However, the opening run was enough for the Utah alum to qualify for a top 12 placement and a spot in the final round on Sunday, February 6 at 9 p.m. (MDT).
FitzSimons finished in third place out of 30 snowboarders in the event.

FitzSimons was one of four members of Team USA to compete in the event.
