SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz crushed the Brooklyn Nets 125-102 in Donovan Mitchell’s return from concussion protocol.
Mitchell had missed the team’s last eight games but returned with 27 points on a mega-efficient 8-10 shooting in the win.
The Jazz have won consecutive games for the first time since January 3-5.
First Quarter
The Jazz got off to a quick start against the Brooklyn Nets scoring the opening 10 points of the game fueled by Mitchell.
The guard scored or assisted on the team’s first 12 points bringing a spark that the team had badly missed over the previous two weeks.

Jared Butler and Trent Forrest also combined for seven first-quarter points filling in for the injured Ingles.
After one, the Jazz led the Nets 33-24.
Second Quarter
The Jazz defense stepped up in the second quarter limiting the Nets to just 23 points on 9-27 shooting.
The team saw an uptick defensively over the last few weeks, but without Mitchell or Rudy Gobert on the floor, the team wasn’t able to translate that improved effort into wins.

The Jazz’s active hand blew up the Nets’ offense with deflections and energy, leading to a blowout at the half.
After two quarters, the Jazz led the Nets 68-47.
Third Quarter
The Jazz crushed any thoughts of a Nets comeback early in the third quarter building their 21 point lead to 34 and forcing Steve Nash to go away from his starters.
Meanwhile, the Jazz momentum continued to build as the baskets came early and often in the quarter.
The Jazz scored 37 points on 13-20 shooting including 7-9 from the three-point line in the frame.
After three, the Jazz led Brooklyn 105-73.
Fourth Quarter
Interim coach Alex Jensen brought the Jazz starters out for the opening minutes of the fourth quarter but was able to take them off the floor with a comfortable lead.
The Jazz young roster gave back some of the lead, but the game was already decided.
