Utah CB Lacarea Pleasant-Johnson Enters Transfer Portal
SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah cornerback Lacarea Pleasant-Johnson has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Lacarea Pleasant-Johnson entered the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon, KSL Sports confirmed with a source with direct access to the database.
The move doesn’t come as much of a shock when Pleasant-Johnson didn’t play cornerback in the Rose Bowl game, following a list of injuries at the position. Utah turned to running back Micah Bernard to replace Zemaiah Vaughn, who suffered an injury in the Pac-12 Championship game.
Lacarea Pleasant-Johnson’s Career At Utah
Pleasant-Johnson is from Mountain Pointe High School. He was the No. 15 ranked recruit in the state of Arizona. His first season with the Utes was in 2019, where he utilized his redshirt. In the 2020 season, Pleasant-Johnson didn’t see any game action.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 season was Pleasant-Johnson’s redshirt freshman year. He appeared in six games, primarily on special teams. The Yakima, Washington native made his debut against USC on October 9. He finished the season with three tackles.
