SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz once again played a competitive game against one of the top teams in the West, but ultimately fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 119-109.
Danuel House Jr. led the team with 21 points, but without Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz were unable to stick with the Grizzlies for the full 48 minutes.
With the loss, the Jazz have dropped their last four games, and 10 of their last 12.
First Quarter
The Jazz got off to a hot start from three but slowed down as Memphis adjusted out onto the team’s shooters.
After building an early lead, the Grizzlies erased it with their length and speed in transition while liming the Jazz to tough looks.

A late eight point burst from Danuel House Jr. kept the Jazz close in the first quarter.
After one, the Jazz trailed Memphis 31-30.
Second Quarter
The Jazz struggled offensively in the second quarter managing only 21 points in the frame.
Outside of a quick six points from House Jr. to open the quarter, the Jazz couldn’t find a consistent source of offense.

The Grizzlies used an 18-2 run amid the Jazz offensive struggles building their lead to as big as 13 in the quarter.
At the half, the Jazz trailed the Grizzlies 59-51.
Third Quarter
The Jazz watched the Grizzlies lead balloon to 13 in the third quarter as Memphis stuck to their gameplan of attacking the paint.
Ja Morant’s ability to run the floor and get to the rim without Rudy Gobert on the floor made it difficult for the Jazz to get stops and find easy baskets on the other end.

Mike Conley did his best to keep the Jazz in the game scoring 11 points on 4-5 shooting.
After three, the Jazz trailed Memphis 88-78.
Fourth Quarter
As they have throughout the week, the Jazz put together a solid fourth quarter performance and cut the Grizzlies lead to as little as four.
However, as has been the case in each game, the Jazz couldn’t get enough stops when they needed them and didn’t have the offense to hang with a healthier opponent.
