Hunter Schofield’s Double-Double Leads Dixie State To Win Over Lamar

ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Dixie State Trailblazers got back on the winning track with a 71-55 win over Lamar on Thursday night at home.
Hunter Schofield led Dixie State with a double-double, scoring 22 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Frank Staine was the only other DSU player to reach double figures with 11 points. Nine total Trailblazers scored in the win.

Dixie State outscored Lamar 36-32 in the first half and 35-23 in the second half. They shot 40% from the field, 32% from the three-point line and 61% at the free throw line.
Lincoln Smith led Lamar with 14 points and seven rebounds. C.J. Roberts chipped in 12 points. They knocked down 30% of their field goal attempts, just 14% from beyond the arc and 12-of-15 at the free throw line.
Dixie State improved their record to 9-10 overall and 2-4 in WAC play. They will return to Burns Arena on Saturday, January 22 to face UTRGV at 7 p.m. MT on ESPN+.
