Salt Lake City Stars Add Former Bingham High And BYU Basketball Star

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz NBA G-League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars announced on Thursday, January 13 that they have acquired the returning player rights to Yoeli Childs.
Childs most recently played in Germany for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the easyCredit Basketball League.

Childs attended Bingham High School in South Jordan, where he averaged 18.5 points and 10.7 rebounds while helping lead the Miners to a 6A Utah State Championship in 2015-16.
In four seasons with BYU, Childs played in 119 games and averaged 17.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He also tallied 45 double-doubles as a Cougar and earned First Team All-West Coast Conference recognition three times.
While playing for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, Childs averaged 7.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in three games.
After signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Washington Wizards in November 2020, he was waived before appearing in a regular season NBA game. He played 12 games for the Wizards G-League affiliate Erie Skyhawks during the 2020-21 season including five starts.
Guard Yogi Ferrell was sent to the Capitol City Go-Go along with a 2022 first round draft pick in exchange for Childs.
